The Goulet 25 was founded in 1991 when several friends decided to squat an abandoned building in their neighborhood (Chêne-Bourg, Geneva / Switzerland). After making the premises livable, they decided to live there and open a place for the young people of the neighborhood.
Very quickly this place became very popular and recognized throughout Europe as the first hip-hop / reggae squat in existence (latin music was also represented by 2 djs: Pancho and Ricardo). Taking advantage of the space and the economic facilities of living in a squat, several musicians, dancers, graffiti painters, etc. took advantage of it to mature their talents (in their furnished apartments or in the Addis record studio based in the basement of the building).
Following the opening of this squat, the whole block of buildings was squatted by other young people (Goulet 21, Goulet 19, Goulet 13, etc ...), creating a real cultural and alternative district in the town of Chêne-Bourg in Geneva.
Many famous Swiss and European artists made their first experiences there.

This compilation is dedicated to the first 3 and only beat makers who lived in the Goulet 25 building and who gave a soundtrack to this cultural revolution which has inspired and continue to inspire many generations.

The Addis Records label is still based in this building.
